Hong Kong Sound Recordist
location sound, interviews, documentary dialogue and clean capture
What This Role Does
Hong Kong Sound Recordist is the on-set role producers book when they need a person who can work with the call sheet, the department head and the timing of the location.
These roles are used on commercials, documentary interviews, corporate films, branded content and event coverage. They work beside the producer, camera department, lighting team, sound team and location crew so the crew list stays practical.
Where It Sits In The Crew Mix
A camera operator may need a 1st AC and DIT, a gaffer may need grip support, a sound recordist may need production coordination, and an international crew may need bilingual communication before the day starts.
The role usually sits beside the department head, the producer and the supporting roles that keep the day on schedule.
Booking Notes
The booking is easier when the department, location and timing are clear.
- shoot dates and call times
- format, location and unit size
- camera, lighting or sound notes if the department is technical
- language requirements for the day
- what the crew should arrive with and what is being supplied locally
